A filling station after renovation: shop, café and forecourt
Ukrnafta filling station No. 17/003 is on Kyivska Street in the village of Korist, Rivne district. During the renovation the whole station was rebuilt: the shop, a café with hot food, a coffee island, restrooms, a kitchen, staff rooms, a terrace and the forecourt with fuel pumps.
Vision Lighting made the lighting calculation in DIALux for every room and the forecourt and selected the luminaires. The design was done in October 2024. The photos were taken after a year of operation, so they show the light the way drivers see it every day.

Tracks under an open ceiling: 60 SHOOTER-L spotlights
The ceiling in the shop is open: dark trusses, air ducts and cable trays. To keep the height and avoid hiding the services behind a suspended ceiling, general and accent light were solved with one system: SHOOTER-L track spotlights on TRACK-3F busbars mounted at 3.5 m.
The busbar runs follow the rows of shelving and pass over the checkout. There are 29 sections from 1 to 3 m long, 69.5 m in total. Where the floor plan turns at an angle, the runs are joined with corner connectors and a flexible connector.

The spotlights use different beam angles: 38° for shelving and aisles, 60° where a wider area needs even light, and 24° for a spot accent. The goods on the shelving get up to 1500 lx. Four more SHOOTER-S at 8 W pick out individual shelves. Each TRACK-3F busbar has 3 independent lines, like a three-gang switch, so some of the spotlights are connected to a separate emergency lighting group.

The whole station uses one colour temperature, 4000 K, with Ra 80 colour rendering, so packaging, drinks and food in the showcases keep their natural colours.

A café with linear light and a hot food counter
The café follows a different principle from the shop. Here the light is not selling goods but letting people rest, so the tables get about 800 lx and the light is softer than on the shelving. The café is open to the shop and has floor-to-ceiling windows. LINK linear luminaires hang above the tables inside planted structures. They give even light on the tables and do not dazzle people sitting with their backs to the windows.

The hot food counter and the coffee island are lit by the same SHOOTER-L spotlights from the runs over the shop. They are aimed at the showcases and work surfaces, so the food looks appetising and the barista can see clearly.

Restrooms and corridor: recessed AISLE downlights
The corridor, restrooms and staff rooms have 17 recessed AISLE SLR110R downlights, 10 W with a 45° beam. The narrow beam sends light down and does not wash out the wooden wall panels.
3000 K contour lighting in the ceiling coves and behind the mirrors makes the restrooms warmer and calmer than the shop.

Terrace and forecourt: LINK IP65 and ROUNDABOUT cantilever luminaires
The terrace has 5 sealed LINK luminaires, 1.7 m long and rated IP65, and 10 ground-recessed 3000 K luminaires light the facade next to the tables.
The forecourt is lit by ROUNDABOUT 150 W cantilever luminaires with T2M optics and a 5000 K colour temperature. The optics spread the light along the driveway, and the cooler white light clearly separates the station from the dark highway.

Two zones, two light levels: shop and café
The design splits the station into two zones with different approaches to light: the shop, where light sells the goods, and the café, where people should feel at ease. That is why the light levels differ:
- Shop, goods on shelving: up to 1500 lx
- Café, tables: about 800 lx
