Electrical installation work

Electrical installation work

Electrical installation is the assembly of electrical products and equipment and their connection to live parts

A full electrical installation service covers installing electrical products, laying cabling, connecting electrical components and commissioning.

Electrical installation is one of the most important parts of construction.

Electrical networks are the basis for using buildings and premises.

How buildings and premises can be used depends directly on their electrical systems. Well-done electrical installation lets you use electrical devices (luminaires, sockets) without problems within the design loads.

Fire safety standards must be followed during electrical installation. Following safety standards and installation practice makes electrical devices safe to use and protects property.

Planning electrical installation

Electrical installation work should be planned in advance.

Laying power cables and wiring and fitting sockets, switches and wire outlets involves a lot of work on walls, floors and ceilings, which creates a lot of dust and debris. So part of the electrical work should be done at the 'wet' stage of renovation, before the finishes are in place.

Sockets, luminaires, spotlights and track systems should be installed in finished rooms, at the 'dry' stage of renovation.

Power supply design

Top 3 reasons for electrical installation work

  1. Commissioning a new building, shop, premises or salon. Here the electrical networks need a lot of attention, because they lay the foundation for the safe use of all electrical devices.
  2. Refurbishment or repair of premises already in use. Electrical work is done carefully and without haste, because network connections and the devices themselves can be damaged, which can make the work more expensive and take longer.
  3. Additional work. Installing extra light sources and repairing existing electrical devices can be done as needed and does not require advance planning.

Vision Lighting Ukraine provides electrical installation services. Our electricians and site managers keep raising their skills by working on non-standard projects and with quality materials. Vision Lighting Ukraine specialises in electrical installation for commercial sites and services for business clients.

How electrical installation work is carried out

First our specialists visit the site and look at the scope of work. We collect all the information we need about the site: room drawings, floor and ceiling plans, plans of electrical equipment and building services.

  1. The site manager draws up detailed estimates. One estimate covers electrical equipment, materials and consumables. A separate estimate lists the electrical installation work and its cost. This makes the cost of installation transparent for clients and lets us prepare thoroughly.
  2. Agreeing the dates and schedule of the work. Once the estimates are approved and the list of services agreed, the full scope can be assessed correctly and a schedule planned.
  3. Carrying out the electrical installation. Work begins after 100% prepayment for materials and approval of the electricians' access to the site.
  4. Electrical installation ends with the handover of the completed work. The site manager and the client inspect all the cabling, electrical devices and luminaires that were worked on, and a demonstration is held.

Electrical installation work itself is divided into

  • Removal and planning. Before installing electrical equipment, unusable cabling and devices should be removed and the room prepared for cutting channels and holes for wiring.
  • Marking out. The routes of cabling and the positions of luminaires, sockets and switches are planned and marked.
  • Mechanical work: cutting technical openings for cabling and fitting trunking and cable supports. Walls are recessed for sockets and switches.
  • Laying wiring. Cables are placed in trunking and recesses, and wires and contact groups are fixed.
  • Installing electrical equipment. Circuit breakers, meters, distribution cabinets, luminaires, tracks, busbar trunking, sockets, switches and so on are mounted in place and connected to the mains.
  • Commissioning of electrical equipment. Before the site is handed over, commissioning is carried out to confirm that the equipment and wiring work correctly.
