Recessed luminaires are mounted into an opening in a plasterboard suspended ceiling, an Armstrong-type grid ceiling or a stretch ceiling with a mounting platform. The housing sits above the ceiling, and only a neat frame stays visible in the room. This gives even general light in an office or sales floor, or a focused accent beam on a display, without cluttering the interior.

AISLE: round downlights for offices and hotels

AISLE luminaires (SLR110R) give soft, even, glare-free light thanks to a deep reflector. Power 7-23 W, 45° beam, colour temperature 3000, 4000 or 5000 K, colour rendering CRI 80 or 90. Cut-outs of 85 and 105 mm make it easy to replace old downlights without reworking the ceiling. Housing in white, black, grey or RAL colours. Suitable for offices, hotels, corridors, apartments and HoReCa venues.

EDGE: miniature square spots for accents

EDGE luminaires (BDL45) are design square spots of 2 W with OSRAM LEDs. Optics 15°, 30° or 45°, CRI 80, 90 or 95 for accurate colour rendering, DALI control as an option. White or black frame and a choice of reflector colours, so the luminaire can be a visible accent or disappear into the ceiling completely. Used in stores, boutiques, showrooms, exhibition halls and residential interiors.

PLATOS: powerful downlights for sales floors

PLATOS luminaires (DLR130R) are designed for general lighting of large spaces. Power from 7 to 40 W, 60° beam, colour temperature 2700-5000 K, CRI 80 or 90. Versions are available with DALI control and with IP54 protection for vestibules, washrooms and damp areas, as well as a special spectrum for meat counters. The optimal choice for supermarkets, stores, offices and shopping centres.

SQUARE: gimbal luminaires with adjustable optics

SQUARE luminaires (ELS166R) have an optical module that rotates 360° and tilts up to 35°, so the light can be aimed precisely at a shelf, mannequin or display. Optics 15°, 24°, 38° or 60°, colour temperature from 2700 to 5700 K, Tunable White versions and special spectra for food retail. One frame holds one to three modules, with a total power of up to 108 W. Housing in white, black, grey or RAL 7016. Main applications: hypermarkets, grocery stores, clothing and shoe stores.

SQUARE cut-outs: 155×155 mm for the single-module, 295×155 mm for the two-module and 440×155 mm for the three-module version. Dimensions for each model are given on its product page.

How to choose a recessed luminaire

Task. For general light in an office or sales floor, choose AISLE or PLATOS downlights. For accent lighting of goods, displays and decor, choose EDGE spots or adjustable SQUARE gimbal luminaires.
Beam angle. 15-24° gives a narrow, bright beam for accents, 38-45° is universal, 60° floods large areas evenly.
Colour temperature. 2700-3000 K creates a cosy feel in cafes, hotels and clothing stores. 4000 K is the standard for offices and supermarkets. 5000 K suits warehouses and technical areas. For meat, fish, bread, fruit and vegetables, special spectra are used to bring out the freshness of the products.
Colour rendering. CRI 80 is enough for offices and corridors. For clothing, cosmetics, food and galleries, choose CRI 90 and above.
Ingress protection. IP20 for dry rooms, IP54 for damp areas and vestibules.
Control. DALI versions let you dim the light, create scenes and connect luminaires to lighting control systems, which noticeably cuts energy costs.
Installation. Check the ceiling type, the void height above the ceiling and the cut-out size.
