Samsung: lighting for an electronics shop

Samsung flagship store on Khreshchatyk

Vision Lighting lit the Samsung flagship store on Khreshchatyk. The black and grey interior removes distractions and feels calm, but it also absorbs daylight, and the hall looked too dark.

The task was to follow the brand’s global concept: getting visitors to try Samsung products hands-on.

PLATOS recessed downlights around the Samsung sales floor

To make the hall bright and comfortable, PLATOS recessed downlights run around the whole perimeter of the shop. They give flood light with no flicker and no glare for visitors.

SQUARE accent light on the U-shaped table and LINK over the Samsung checkout

The key element of the floor zoning is a U-shaped presentation table with the newest devices. Narrow-beam SQUARE luminaires above it follow the shape of the table. Against the dark interior the table works as a presentation stage.

To keep people from crowding in one spot, other products get accents too, so attention spreads across the hall. The checkout area is lit by LINK linear luminaires at 5000K.

Luminaires in the project

• PLATOS recessed downlights: around the whole perimeter, general flood light with no flicker or glare.
• SQUARE recessed luminaires: narrow beam over the U-shaped presentation table, following its shape.
• LINK linear luminaires: 5000K in the checkout area.
