ttt: lighting for a smartphone and accessories shop

ttt electronics shop in Lavina Mall

Teritoriia Tvoiei Tekhniky (ttt) is a major official distributor of Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Motorola and other phones and tablets in Ukraine. The company recently started opening retail shops where customers can collect online orders and see the main range. We lit one of these shops in Lavina Mall, Kyiv.

Neutral white light for smartphones in the ttt shop

Warm yellowish light does not suit displays and counters with electronics, as it spoils the impression of the device. Neutral white or cool light from 4000K to 6000K works better and gives the floor a more dynamic feel.

Products priced above about USD 200 (UAH 5,000-6,000) need light with high colour rendering, CRI above 80 Ra. Smartphone specifications are similar, so makers stand out through housing materials, finishes and accessories. High-CRI light renders their texture, material quality and colour accurately.

General light and TECHNIK track spotlights on the ttt floor

In an electronics shop it is important to balance general and accent light. General light alone suits only the cheapest products. Accent light alone creates a dramatic effect and fits a premium segment with a designer interior. Combining the two is the most balanced option: it suits any product and is easy for shoppers to take in. The photos show that on the ttt floor general ceiling light is supplemented by track spotlights.

The accent light comes from TECHNIK TRL100 track spotlights. The model comes with a driver box mounted together with the adapter on the busbar, or as the TRL100ND with the driver inside the housing.

Luminaires in the project

• TECHNIK TRL100 and TRL100ND track spotlights: accent light over the smartphone walls and accessory stands; COB CREE 1816, 2850 lm, 30 W, CRI of at least 82 Ra, aluminium housing, 3-year warranty.
