TENDO in Sarny: Supermarket Lighting

A supermarket where light guides the shopper

The lighting of the TENDO supermarket in Sarny is built as a shopper’s route: from the entrance through the large sales floor and shelving to the chilled zone and checkouts. We chose a separate fixture series for each stage.

The entrance is the first and last contact a shopper has with the store. Here, minimal PLATOS recessed lights give a soft accent without distracting from the bright interior of the floor.

SATURN rings above the sales floor

The centre of the large floor needed a solution that would emphasise its scale without visually splitting the space. SATURN decorative fixtures became the element that ties the floor together, creating a visual centre and an expressive composition under the ceiling.

SHOOTER-L spotlights on the shelving

The shelving is lit by SHOOTER-L track spotlights. They highlight products without overloading the general light and set a clear logic for how shoppers interact with the displays. The track system makes it easy to re-aim the light whenever the product layout changes.

LINK in the chilled zone and at the checkouts

LINK linear lights work in two zones. Next to the freezer and fridge units they give even, shadow-free light and are built right into the slatted ceiling. At the checkouts, where there is a lot of movement and people stay longer, LINK provides neutral, comfortable light for cashiers and shoppers without sharp changes in brightness.

The result is a modern, structured and coherent supermarket in which the light reads as part of the interior.
