Springfield: lighting a youth clothing shop

Springfield clothing shop in Piramida Mall, Kyiv

Springfield is a brand of men’s and women’s urban clothing with shops around the world. The company has been in retail for more than 30 years and runs a network of its own and franchise shops. We chose the lighting for one of the chain’s Kyiv shops, in Piramida Mall.

Clients like this know retail design well and come with a clear idea of the light and photometric performance they need. The main requirement was to meet corporate quality standards: neutral white accent light with high colour rendering.

TECHNIK TRL100 track spotlights at 4000 K on the Springfield sales floor

The shop uses the TECHNIK TRL100 track spotlight. It has a COB CREE light source with 93 Ra colour rendering, 30 W power and at least 2850 lm of luminous flux, with a 3-year warranty.

For Springfield we chose a black housing, a 15° beam and a neutral 4000 K colour temperature. The narrow beam puts clear accents on racks and clothing tables, and the high Ra keeps fabric colours natural.

The spotlights were mounted in an unusual way. A U-shaped profile with single-circuit track inside was suspended around the perimeter of the sales floor, and the LED spotlights were installed on that track.

The light-coloured profiles draw neat lines under the high open ceiling, and the spotlights on the track can be turned to a new display.
