01 · About

Oodji shop: family clothing and footwear by MD Fashion

The Oodji brand is represented in Ukraine by MD Fashion, for whom we regularly light clothing and footwear shops. Oodji is a mid-price shop for the whole family, where parents and children shop on the same floor. The chain is widely represented in Ukraine and shoppers know the brand well.

We plan lighting for a shop like this around the fixture layout, shopper flows, brand style and interior design. Placing light sources at random without a master plan does not work here.

02 · Light levels

General light and light levels on the Oodji floor

A shop can be lit with general light only, accent light only, or a mix of both. The most harmonious and economical option is recessed or surface-mounted luminaires for general light and track spotlights for accents on displays. This way the light supports product presentation, the atmosphere for visitors, staff comfort and energy efficiency.

General light in a clothing shop can range from 300 to 1000 lux, and accent lighting of displays should reach at least 400 lux. The darker the fabric, the more light it needs: black suits, shirts or dark leather jackets are lit at 900-1000 lux, while light and semi-transparent fabrics look good at 500-600 lux. Light sources should have a CRI of 80-95 Ra and a colour temperature of 3000K to 5000K depending on the brand style, with neutral 4000K as the classic choice.

03 · PLATOS and SQUARE

PLATOS and SQUARE recessed luminaires and TECHNIK spotlights at Oodji

General light at Oodji comes from PLATOS recessed luminaires at 20 W with a COB CREE source, a 40° beam and a CRI of at least 82 Ra. Alongside them are SQUARE recessed luminaires with adjustable (gimbal) heads, a 3300 lm luminous flux and a CREE CXA source.

Accent light comes from TECHNIK track spotlights with an aluminium housing, 2850 lm luminous flux, a CREE chip and a CRI of at least 82 Ra.
