My F+ckin' Gym: lighting for a fitness club

Lighting a dark gym interior at My F+ckin’ Gym

My F+ckin’ Gym is a fitness club in Kyiv with a dark interior of concrete, black walls and neon graphics. The atmosphere should push people to train hard, while the light itself has to be soft and pleasant, since staff and visitors spend a lot of time here.

Dark spaces are hard to light because surfaces absorb light and reflect very little. So we carried out a lighting calculation first and chose the luminaires based on it.

TUBE ROUND and OPUS SQUARE luminaires on the My F+ckin’ Gym training floor

Flood light on the floor comes from TUBE ROUND MTR117 luminaires at 12 W. Their reflector design prevents glare for visitors.

The main light atmosphere is created by OPUS SQUARE MTS136 luminaires at 35 W.

WIRE pendants by the mirrors and a dimmable spotlight over the My F+ckin’ Gym desk

In the changing rooms, WIRE WSL70 pendant luminaires at 12 W give accent light by the mirrors. The mirrors themselves are lit with LED strip.

The reception desk also serves as the club’s coffee point. Above it we installed a TRASER-S TRL50S surface-mounted LED spotlight at 8 W. The client wanted adjustable light, so the spotlight was fitted with a dimming option.
