Kite creative office in Chernihiv: the Naked Truth project
Kite is one of Ukraine’s leading makers of school backpacks and stationery. We took part in lighting its creative office in Chernihiv in 2018.
The project is called Naked Truth, with interior design by Toma Okhrimenko and photos by Andrii Bezuhlov. Working together with designers, we choose light that gives the right light levels without breaking the style of the space.
Colour temperature in the colourful Kite office interior
The Kite office is built around terracotta walls, a pink slatted ceiling and strong blue accents. In an interior like this, colour temperature clearly changes the colours. Reds soften under warm 2500-3000K light, blues look best under neutral 4000K, and yellows turn grey and dull under cool 5000-6500K light.
Light sources of different colour temperatures in one room help control how colours are seen, but without careful planning they create contrasts that tire the eyes.
SHOOTER track luminaires on black track in the Kite office
SHOOTER track luminaires light the work area and walkways. Black housings on black track support the graphic lines of the interior: metal partition frames and black desk and shelving frames.
WIRE pendant luminaires in the Kite office kitchen
In the kitchen, WIRE pendant luminaires hang over the bar counter and the table. They are lowered on cords and cast accent pools of light on the blue wall and the worktop.
